Leo C. Brown

Leo C. Brown, 84, of Dundee died peacefully on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, in his home – surrounded by family. He was born on October 7, 1933 in Dundee in the same house he died in; the Brown Family Homestead (his wish fulfilled), the son of Clem and Frances (Flitter) Brown.

On August 29th, 1953 he married Carol M. Hughes at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Campbellsport.

Leo lived a wonderful life and said he wouldn’t change a thing. He worked on the family farm, for Gehls, Ram, Michels, etc. and drove truck.

Leo was tremendously loved by his children, 17 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. He was well known and well loved with many friends (impacting many) and was an integral part of Dundee for 84 years. Leo mowed grass and plowed snow for most of Dundee. He had a warm heart, was very generous, proud of his flags and accepting of all. His favorite sayings were “have a good day and don’t let anyone ruin it” and”Grandpa loves ya”. As his health declined, he fondly reminisced upon his life and often made the comment “I had a good run”. Leo was very proud of his family, his home and Dundee.

Survivors include his children Mary (Mike) Bowe of Mt. Calvary, Larry (Diane) Brown of Dundee, Chris (Gary) Liebich of Wonder Lake, IL, Valerie (Mark) O’Loughlin of Dundee and Vicki (Boyd) Stoffel of Campbellsport, his grandchildren Billy (Tammy) Bowe, Angie (Matt) Galligan, Brian (Terah) Bowe, Andy (Shauna) Bowe, Sarah (Joe) Desiderio, Jason (Melanie) Brown, Emily (Devin) Colvin, Shawn Brown, Leana (Gene) Davis, Colin (Adrienne) Liebich, Alysa (Chase) Langlais, Kailie (James) Surges, Rachel and Leah O’Loughlin, and Nolen, Layton and Audra Stoffel, 26great-grandchildren, his brothers Bernard (Barb) Brown and David Brown, his brothers-in-law Mike Lavey and Pearson Hughes, his sisters-in-law Marilyn Brown, Janet (Ronald) Hanson, Anne Uelmen and Joan (Jack) Eggers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents, wife Carol on January 16, 2013, sisters Monica Lavey and Joan Becker, sisters-in-law Dolly Brown and Sharon Hughes and brothers-in-law Richard Becker and Donald Uelmen.
