Leona (Van Norman) Kowalske

Leona
(Van Norman) Kowalske, 86, of Fond du Lac, passed away on Sunday, September 20,
2015. She was born October 19, 1928, in Springtime, Montana, the daughter of
Ransom and Mary Gardner Van Norman. She returned to Wisconsin with her family
when she was a year old. She married Wallace Kowalske on June 3, 1950 at
Immanuel Trinity Lutheran Church. He preceded her in death on March 12, 2008.
She was employed as a bookkeeper all of her life and was instrumental in
starting Toastmasters Club 3577 and was a member for over 25 years.

 

She
is survived by a son, Paul, of Oshkosh, two grandchildren, Zackery and Payton
Kowalske, both of Oshkosh, nieces and nephews, including a special niece,
Shirley O’Neil of Fond du Lac, many friends, including Jim Mangas of Fond du
Lac, and almost “sister” Shirley Johnson of Sacramento, CA. She was preceded in
death by her parents, husband, four brothers, Jay, Claude, Alan, and Earl Van
Norman, and two sisters, Jean O’Neil and Ruth Weisjohn, two brothers-in-law,
David and Rodney Kowalske, and a sister-in-law, Farrell Kowalske.

 

Visitation
for Leona (Van Norman) Kowalske will be on Thursday, September 24, 2015, from 9
to 11 AM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Memorial services will be at 11 AM at the
funeral home on Thursday. Rev. Tom Meyer will officiate. Cremation has taken
place. The family requests that memorials be directed to the Hospice Home of
