Linda K. Miller

Linda K. Miller, 68, of Dundee passed away peacefully on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Manorcare Health Services in Fond du Lac.

She was born on June 17, 1949 in St. Peter, MN, the daughter of Wallace and Janet (LaCroix) Michels. On March 9, 1984, Linda married

Randall P. Miller at the Covered Bridge near Cedarburg.

Linda’s first job was as a telephone operator, then worked the front desk at Holiday Inns in the Milwaukee area and next was hired by Target and started stocking shelves.

Through the years of working, corporate saw her as management material, so Linda went into management training in retail-soft lines, hard lines and customer service and finally into store manager. Linda achieved

third in her district which was rare in a male dominated workplace.

In her younger years, Linda liked to golf and served as president of the Ladies Thursday Morning League at Edgewater Golf Course in Grafton. For about ten years, Linda also owned and operated Woodland Trading Company in the Cedar Creek Settlement in Cedarburg. When we retired, she owned and operated Birch Bark Images, LLC, a gift store in Dundee where she sold Randy’s Artwork which did very well after a juried festival of the Lakefront Arts Show.

This Arts Festival had 9,500 applications but only 155 were juried in from all over the world.

Just before retirement, Linda was a full partner in Miller Mason & Concrete, S-corp for which she handled all paperwork, billing and tax reports.

From all of Linda’s life accomplishments, she was most proud of her time spent with the Historical Presenters and Crossroads Rendezvous, organizing school programs and traveling with Randy teaching the American Melting Pot Story.

She was nominated and accepted into membership of the “Beaver Brigade”, a sisterhood of the most respected female history reenactors in the upper Midwest. Their mission is to preserve and promote our real U. S. History as it was and not changed.

Linda is survived by her husband Randy Miller, her children Angela (Bill) Leannah of Port Washington, Heather Stiebs, Paul Miller both of Rogue River, OR, and Chris Miller of Dundee, her grandchildren Zoe and Myleigh Leannah, Shelby McPhail and Sam, Katie and Irena Stiebs, her siblings Kevin Michels, Marshall Michels, Philip Michels all of Rochester, MN and Rhoda Peterson of Blaine, MN, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Janet Michels, brother-in-law Bruce Peterson and nephew Chad Peterson.
