Marcella L. Francis

Marcella L. Francis, 87, of Fond du Lac, passed away on January 21, 2014, at St. Agnes Hospital, surrounded by family.

She was born on April 22, 1926, in Fond du Lac, a daughter of Charles and Lena Ebling Maske.  Marcella graduated in 1945 from Fond du Lac Senior High School.

On June 11, 1949, she married Gail L. Francis at Division Street Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Plopper officiating. 

Marcella was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church.

She worked at Infant Socks, enjoyed reading, gardening, especially roses, doing crossword puzzles, feeding the birds, and watching the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers.

She is survived by a sister, Mae Kunick of Wausau; a sister-in-law, Charlene (Bob) Lotzer of Marshfield and Arizona; nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gail on October 15, 2006; an infant son, Craig; an infant daughter, Julie; two sisters:  Betty (Roland) Boeder and Esther (Harold “Bud”) Brotherton; brothers-in-law: Clyde Kunick and John “Toby” (Froan) Tobin.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Michael Morning officiating.   Burial will follow in Rienzi Cemetery.

The visitation will be on Saturday at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Covenant United Methodist Church or American Diabetes Association.
