Marcella Vande Streek

Marcella Vande Streek, 89, of Eagle River, formerly of Waupun, died unexpectedly on Thursday, October 5, 2017 in Wausau.

Marcella was born May 1, 1928 in Eagle River, WI the daughter of Joseph and Caroline Hoffman Barovich.  She married Phillip Wickstrom in Washburn, WI.  In 1951 they moved to Waupun and later divorced.  On June 20, 1959 she married Alvin “Streek” Vande Streek in Eagle River.  Following their marriage the couple resided in Waupun all their married lives.  Marcella was employed at Waupun Launders for several years.  Following Streek’s death in 1990, Marcella returned to Eagle River and was employed at Bonson’s Grocery for 12 years. While residing in Eagle River she was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. While in Waupun she was a member of Pella lutheran Church for 40 years.  She was a fun loving person who enjoyed relatives and friends.  She also enjoyed fishing, NASCAR races, snowmobile races, walking, and her dog.

Marcella is survived by two daughters: Anita (Cal) Hartgerink of Waupun, and Ginger (John) Haberman of Show Low, AZ; six grandchildren: Amy Hartgerink (friend Rod Spatola), Paul (Doreen) Hartgerink, Clint (Sarah) Hartgerink, Lisa (Phillip) Tinsley, Lonn Haberman, and Becki Brewer; great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.

Marcella was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Vande Streek; and her sister, Caroline Kelly.

Funeral services for Marcella Vande Streek will be held Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun.  Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton.  Friends and relatives of Marcella Vande Streek may call on the family on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
