Marion E. Wettstein

Marion E. Wettstein, 86, of Oakfield passed away on Jan. 19, 2014 at All About
Life Rehabilitation Center surrounded by her family. Marion was born in the Town
of Empire on February 27, 1927 the daughter of the late Frank Aloysius and
Eleanor Elizabeth (Schwind) Goebel. On May 27, 1947 she married Clement John
Wettstein at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eden.
Clem and Marion owned and
operated Wettstein’s Bar in Oakfield from 1961-1968, prior to that they operated
the Tavern/Banquet Hall in Byron. Marion raised and cared for her seven children
as well as both Grandma’s of the family and also a niece. Marion also worked at
Miles Kimball and retired in 1991.
Survivors include her husband Clem of 66
years and their seven children: daughter Sharon (Harold) Franke of Oakfield, son
James Wettstein of Oakfield, daughter Carol Pierstorff of Oakfield, son Lyle
Wettstein of Appleton, son Joseph (Ann) Wettstein of Fond du Lac, son Gary
(Kris) Wettstein of Oakfield and daughter Mary Kay Beau of Oakfield.
Grandchildren: Brian (Amy) Pierstorff and Craig (Jen) Pierstorff, Michael
(Julie) Franke; Antoni “Toni” (Ryan) Waters, Thomas, Rachael, Jenna and Bethany
Wettstein, Jennifer (Nate) Haberman, Joseph “Joey” Wettstein and Kelly
Wettstein, Cassandra “Cassie” and Samatha “Sammy” Wettstein, Adam Tomesh and
Alex Tomesh and Mitchell Beau, eleven great grandchildren with one more
expecting to join the family in May and two brothers: Donald Goebel and Jerome
“Jerry” (Virginia) Goebel, sister-in-law Kathleen Majerus and many other
relatives and friends. Marion was preceded in death by her parents, brothers:
Robert, Kenneth, Francis, Joseph and Lawrence and sisters: Dorothy, Cecilia and
RoseMary “Rosie” and sister-in-laws: Alice Braun, Laura Ebert and Delores Tonn.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Thurs. Jan. 23rd from 10:00
AM until 1:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 305 Fond du Lac Avenue, Fond du
Lac, a celebration of Marion’s life will be at 1:00 PM at the funeral Home with
burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu in flowers, Memorials may be
