Marvin L. Akey

Marvin L. Akey, 84, of Fond du Lac passed away Monday July 3, 2017 at home. 



He was born in Mosinee on May 13, 1933 the son of the late Leonard and Amy Truax Akey. 



Marvin served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 until 1957. 



Marvin married Ruth M. Hammerschmidt on January 15, 1955 in Milwaukee. 



Marvin worked for many years at Ladish, retiring in 1992. 



He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the American Legion in Fond du Lac. 



Survivors include his children: 



Ronald (Paula) of Camden, SC, Bonnie (Clark) Matthew of Boulder Junction, Keith (Sharon) of East Troy, Timothy (Kayla) of Painesville, OH and James (Jeanne) of Cudahy, one daughter-in-law Pam Akey of West Allis, one sister Doralin Nechuta of Athens, two brothers Richard Akey of Marshfield and Myron Akey of Lac du Flambeau, 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. 



He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, two sons: 



Gerald and Clifford and two brothers: 



Leonard and Robert. 



Memorial services will be held Friday July 21, 2017 at 1:00 PM at Trier-Puddy American Legion Post #75, 500 Fond du Lac Ave. Fond du Lac. 



Rev. Adam Zimpelmann will officiate. 



Military Honors provided by Trier Puddy American Legion at 1:30PM.
