Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Kettler

Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Kettler, 90, of Oakfield, died Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at St. Francis Home, Fond du Lac.

She was born on March 14, 1923, in Superior, Wisconsin, a daughter of Robert and Alina Uusimaa Alto.

Betty graduated from Superior Teachers College (UW-Superior), and was a teacher in Fond du Lac. She is survived by five children:  Robert (Judy) Kettler of Wauwatosa, William (Renae) Kettler of Madison, Richard (Janet) Kettler of Lincoln, Nebraska, Mary Kettler of Fond du Lac, and Jane Kettler of Sheboygan.  She was a proud grandmother to her eight grandchildren:  Andrea, Chase, Casey, Nina, Madeline, and Isabel Kettler, and Tasos and Alexander Psihoyios.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl, on December 1, 2010; two brothers:  Ray Alto and Art Alto; and a sister, Helen Kubala.
