Mildred M. Guell

Mildred M. Guell, 96, of Fond du Lac, went to be with her Lord on Friday, March 28, 2014, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home.

She was born on August 1, 1917, on the family farm, in the Town of Osceola, a daughter of John and Esther Dennert Hodorff.

Her lifelong faith provided her with joy, peace, and comfort.  Daily devotion, bible reading, and prayers were an important part of her life. According to her grandchildren, she was famous for her dill pickles and chocolate chip cookies.  Mildred was an excellent cook, however, on occasion, she would use the phrase, “ but the recipe said it was good”.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harley, on March 20, 1994; a son, Terry Guell; a grandson, Jerod Guell; a great-grandson, Braeden Guell;  four brothers:  Earl (Elaine) Hodorff, Merlin (Florence) Hodorff, Hubert Hodorff, and Harold (Jo) (Arlene) Hodorff; a sister, Lydia (Angelo) Germanotta; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Hodorff; two brothers-in-law:  Claude Miller and Bud Burmeister.

The funeral service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 3, 2014, at Lighthouse Christian Church, 401 South National Avenue, Fond du Lac, with Rev. Richard Balken and Rev. Tim Carlton                 officiating.  Burial will be in Mitchell Cemetery.
