Minnie Foote

Minnie Foote, 88, of Fond du Lac, died Sunday, January 27, 2013, at Grancare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

 

She was born on July 2, 1924, in Corbin, Kentucky, the youngest daughter of Elbert M. and Oteria F. Williams Mayfield.

 

On January 5, 1945, she married Elmer C. Foote in Kentucky.  Minnie and Elmer were pen pals during World War II.

 

Minnie had a deep faith and was a caring, kind and loving lady.  She was a light to her family and she will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

 

She is survived by her only daughter, Diane Weigel and her husband George; four sons: Phil Foote and his wife Jean, Herb Foote and his wife Sandy Drexel, Don Foote and his wife Greta, and Roger Foote; 15 grandchildren:  Brian (fiancée Stacie) Foote, Rebecca (Joel) Dennis, Ray Foote, Cheryl (Louis) Handy, Janice (Tony) Fiocchi, Justin (Kathy) Berens, Angela (Scott) Orvis, Michelle (Mike) Walters, Tamara Hass, John (Tanya) Weigel, Cassandra (Jeremy) Menke, Ryan Foote, Nathan (fiancée Maggie) Foote, Alex Foote, and Daniel Foote; 32 great-grandchildren: Jonah, Ezra, Lorien, Henry, Ada, Cody, Ashley, Blake, Rebeka, Rachel, Amber, Cheran, Caleb, Crystal, Allen, Alexia, David, Devin, Erik, Olivia, Sophia, Frank, Cody, Logan, Noah, Gavin, Colton, and Elijah; nieces, nephews, a special friend, Betty Bartelt; other relatives and many friends.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Oscar; two sisters:  Hallie Young, and Bertie Hunter; a brother, Evan Mayfield; and a great-granddaughter, Beth –Aven.

 

Minnie and her family are grateful for the loving care she received from the staff at Grancare Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Lincoln House, and Agnesian Hospice.

 

The family will greet relatives and friends from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Mach Funeral Chapel & Crematory, 31 East Division Street, Fond du Lac.

 

A private service will be held at a later date.
