Paul Kenneth Cerny

Paul Kenneth Cerny, 49, of Fond du Lac passed away
September 3, 2014, at Froedtert Hospital with family by his side. He was born
February 17, 1965 to Kenneth J. and Rosemary (Engelhardt) Cerny.

Paul was united in marriage May 15, 1999 to Mary
A. Berens in Fond du Lac.

Paul fought a long battle with Leukemia and
complications following a bone marrow transplant.  Prior to his diagnosis in September of 2012,
Paul worked for D.R. Kohlman and PanelTEK in Fond du Lac, and Cerny’s Midway
Market in Mukwonago, WI. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Fond
du Lac where he served as an usher.

Paul was a caring and dedicated husband, son,
son-in-law, and uncle to 31 nieces and nephews.
An incredible servant, he loved to help people.  He was an avid Brewer and Packer fan and
fisherman. Paul was inspiring for many with his “never quit” attitude and
constant upbeat mentality that made us better people with the time we were
given with him.

Paul is survived by his wife, Mary (Berens) of
Fond du Lac; parents Kenneth and Rosemary (Englehardt) Cerny of East Troy; one
brother Shawn (Beth) Cerny of East Troy; father and mother-in-law Bob and Sue
Berens of Fond du Lac; five brothers-in-law: Dick (Molly) Berens of Elm Grove,
Mark (Kathy) Berens of Fairfield, CT, Dave (Renee) Berens of Hattiesburg, MS,
Chris (Cheryl) Berens of Waukesha and Joel (Jenny) Berens of Plover; one sister-in-law
Sam (Hale) Jay of Eden Prairie, MN and 31 nieces and nephews including his
goddaughter Marissa.

Paul was preceded in death by his maternal
grandparents Junie and Fay Engelhardt and paternal grandparents Bohumil and
Frances Cerny.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to
family, friends, caregivers and the medical staff at Agnesian Cancer Center in
Fond du Lac, and Grace Clinic and the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at Froedtert
Hospital in Milwaukee, for the incredible selfless care given to Paul. It truly
was a team effort in seeing him through his journey to God.
