Raymond Alvin Seibel

It pleased Almighty God to call unto Himself the soul of Raymond Alvin Seibel on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac.

Raymond was born to Christian parents, Roy H. and Josephine A. Loehr Seibel on March 20, 1931, in the Town of Forest.  There he was received in the Kingdom of God, by the washing of Holy Baptism, and confirmed in the faith of Christ Jesus in his youth.

He graduated from Winnebago Lutheran Academy in 1948, and then graduated with a teaching degree from Bethany Lutheran College, Mankato, MN, in 1950.

On December 26, 1952, he married Donna M. Kinkel at Faith Ev. Lutheran Church, Fond du Lac.  This union was blessed with four children.

In 1950, Raymond’s teaching ministry began at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran School in Maribel and in 1957 he began teaching at Winnebago Lutheran Academy until his retirement in 1996.   He was a member of St. Paul’s Ev. Lutheran Church,  Town of Forest.

In addition to his many years of teaching, he enjoyed athletics and coaching and was inducted into the Wisconsin Baseball Coaches Hall of Fame in 1991.  He volunteered for more than 15 years with Hospice.  He enjoyed every day at the Woodlands and considered the staff and residents his second family.  He was a wonderful Christian man, a good father, loving grandfather, and was a blessing to many.

Left to mourn their loved one, but not without hope, are his children:  Andy (Debbie) Seibel, Becky Johnson, and Dave (Jenni) Seibel; 12 grandchildren:  Anthony (Pam), Phillip, Olivia, Alex, Evan, Catherine and Andrew Seibel, and Jessica, Scott, Mike, and Steven Johnson, and Audrey Seibel; six great-grandchildren; a brother, Paul (Bonnie) Seibel; together with nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Donna, on January 24, 2009; a daughter, Judith; a brother and sister-in-law, Marvin (Audrey) Seibel; a sister and two brothers-in-law, Grace Diederichs Adams, Ralph Diederichs and Elmer Adams.

It was his God-given privilege to serve the Lord and people during his lifetime.
