Rev. Charles D. Loehr

Rev. Charles D. Loehr went to his heavenly home on Wed. Jan. 29, 2014 at the St.
Francis Home in Fond du Lac. He was born June 30, 1922 in Fond du Lac the son of
the late Anton J. and Laura (Meier) Loehr. Father began his studies for the
priesthood at St. Lawrence Seminary in Mt. Calvary in 1936 and completed them at
St. Francis Seminary in Milwaukee in 1947. He was ordained on June 7, 1947 at
St. John’s Cathedral by the Most Reverend Moses E. Kiley, Archbishop of
Milwaukee. Father Chuck celebrated his first mass on June 10, 1947 at St.
Michael’s Church in Dotyville. Father Loehr’s first appointment was St.
Michael’s Church in Milwaukee from 1947 until 1961, next St. Mary’s Church in
Port Washington from 1961 until 1963, then St. Peter’s Church in Beaver Dam from
1963 until 1964, and St. Matthias Church in Milwaukee from 1964 until 1967.
Father Chuck then served St. Theresa Church in Theresa as pastor from 1967 until
March 30, 1992 when he retired and moved to his home o n Mullet Lake, WI to
enjoy his retirement. Father was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and
the Knights of Columbus.

Survivors include his sister-in-law Violet
Loehr, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in
death by two sisters: Mary Schmitz and her husband Arthur and Veronica Kramer
and her husband Leo and four brothers: Bernard Loehr and his wives Ellen, Jenny,
and Sally, Father Ted Loehr, Robert Loehr, and Peter Loehr, S.M.,

A Mass
of Christian Burial will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday Feb. 4th at Shepherd of the
Hills Catholic Church, W1562 Hwy B Eden. The Most Reverend Jerome Listecki will
be the principal celebrant and inurnment will be at a later date at St.
Michael’s Cemetery, Dotyville. Visitation will be Tuesday Feb. 4th at the church
from 2:00 PM until time of Mass.
