Robert “Bob” G. Hosp

Robert “Bob” G. Hosp, 53, of Mt. Calvary, died Saturday, June 27, 2015 at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac after suffering a severe asthma attack. He was born in West Bend on March 16, 1962, the oldest son of Robert and Janice (Stevens) Hosp. Bob moved to Mt. Calvary over 2 decades ago in order to manage Heritage Lanes. His career involved both management and ownership positions in the sport of bowling. He was employed for the last 7 years by the Hilbert family at Parkway Lanes in Fond du Lac, serving as an assistant manager.

The following was written by his sister, Pam, shortly after his death:

“I’m not asking “why me?” but I am asking “WHY?!?!” Why are the good guys taken when they don’t deserve to leave this earth so early? My big brother Bob (53 yrs old) was such a happy-go-lucky guy who worked in the bowling business for 30 years and loved his customers and loved to have fun and help people. He lost his life yesterday following a very severe asthma attack. I’m devastated and still trying to come to terms with this sudden reality, but because he was healthy other than the asthma he will hopefully save multiple lives through organ donation. Thank you to the owners and regular customers from Parkway Lanes in Fond du Lac, WI who became my brother’s extended family. He loved his work and loved the people around him. RIP, Bob. I love you!”

Surviving Bob are his brother; Chuck (Cheryl) of Franklin, WI, and their sons, Nathan and Jacob; his sister, Pam Hosp, of Greenfield, WI; other relatives and many friends, including his “second” family at Parkway Lanes in Fond du Lac. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation for Bob will be held from 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM, Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. in Fond du Lac. Funeral service will begin at 6:00 PM. Cremation will follow the services.
