Robert E. Bodart

Robert E. Bodart, 82, of Fond du Lac passed away at his home on Monday, January 21, 2013.  Robert was born in Kewaunee, WI on March 16, 1930, a son of Alexander and Mae Gruetzmacher Bodart.

On October 25, 1952 he married Beverly LeCloux in Green Bay, WI.

Robert was a manager at Clean Towel Service of Michigan until 1967, moving to Fond du Lac in 1968 where he worked as an assembler for Mercury Marine.  He retired on July 1, 1995.  He served in the Naval Reserve 1947 and U.S. Army from 1948 to 1952.  Robert was a member of Holy Family Church.

He was a 4th degree Knight for Knights of Columbus, Boy Scout Leader, member of The American Legion, St. Louis Church Men’s Club and Veterans of Foreign War.  He loved bowling, dancing, playing cards, going to Las Vegas and Oneida to beat the odds with his best buddy Dick Cooney.  Fishing, hunting and camping were also things he enjoyed very much.  He was a great golfer, making two holes-in-one at Oak Green Golf Course in a 9 hole round.  He loved spending time with his family and would do anything to help make their lives better. He gave all he could and more, always happy with a smile on his face.  All who knew him loved being around him and enjoyed his presence.  He will be missed beyond words!

Survivors include his five children: Melinda M. Sullivan and her sons Brady (Jasmine) Sullivan and Brennen (Nicole) Sullivan; Gregory M. (Mary) Bodart and their children: Blake (Michelle) Bodart, Burgundy Bodart, Bethany Goodwin, Cynthia (Jeffrey) Kreinke, and Gina (Randy) Redmann; Pamela J. Demoske and her children: Noah, Jacob (Vickie),  Krista (Tim) Wichman and Benjamin Demoske; Chris R. Bodart and his daughter Amber Bodart; Kandi L. Wendel and her daughters: Nykole, Morgan and Danielle; 27 great grandchildren; his sister Barbara (Dick) Bushmaker; two brothers: Myron (Shirley) Bodart and Butch (Carol) Bodart; one sister-in-law Janice Bodart; also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly, son-in-law Jeff Demoske, brother Vern Bodart and sister Irene Bodart.

Visitation: Family will greet relatives and friends on Saturday January 26, 2013 at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St. from 10:00 am to 1:45 pm.

Services: Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 2:00 pm at Zacherl Funeral Home.
