Robert F. Sarauer

Robert Frank Sarauer, 59, a resident of the town of Empire, passed away unexpectedly at home on November 15, 2016.

He was born June 3, 1957 in Fond du Lac, a son of the late Vernon and Esther Dewitz Sarauer.

On November 12, 1977 he married Darlene Rose Birschbach at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Fond du Lac.

Bob was a graduate of L.P. Goodrich High School. He was employed by Saputo Cheese, Fond du Lac and recently celebrated his 40th anniversary with the company. In conjunction with his wife, he was a managing partner of B & S Investments of Wisconsin, an apartment development company. In addition to other activities, Bob had been engaged in farming his entire life, something he loved. He was a member of Holy Family Parish. In his spare time, Bob enjoyed snowmobiling, four wheeling, working on machinery with his son, spending time with family and friends, and the Green Bay Packers.

Survivors include his loving wife, Darlene, a son, Derek (Alecia) Sarauer of Mt. Calvary, the joy of his life, his grandson, Troy, two sisters, Mary Sonnentag of Racine, and Jo Ann (Donald) Norton of Oshkosh, eight brothers, Arlyn (Kay) of Conover, David (Mary) of Janesville, Roger (Linda) and Glenn (Carol) both of Fond du Lac, Gary (Karen) of Ripon, Vernon Jr. of Fond du Lac, Richard (Lisa) of Neenah, and Frank (Rose) of Fond du Lac, two brothers-in-law, Kenny (Diane) Birschbach and Michael Birschbach both of Fond du Lac, four sisters-in-law, Debbie Sarauer of Fond du Lac, Nancy Birschbach of St. Cloud, Sharon (Bill) Thern and Sandy Brodnax, both of Fond du Lac, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Joseph and a sister, Elizabeth Schneider, a sister-in-law, Pam Sarauer, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Delbert and Valeria Birschbach, and two nephews, Chad Sarauer and Michael Sarauer.

Visitation: Visitation will be held on Friday November 18, 2016 from 3:00 to 6:45 PM at the Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac.

Services: A Liturgy of the Word will be celebrated following the visitation on Friday at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in the St. Charles Cemetery, on Saturday.
