Robert L. Head

Robert L. Head, age 67 of Stockbridge, passed away peacefully Tuesday March 20, 2018, at his home. He was born on June 5, 1950, the son of the late Jerry and Loretta (Birk) Head.

Bob was drafted and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Bob was united in marriage to Jill Smith on April 15, 1984. Together, Bob and Jill built a house on 10 acres near the family farm restoring an abandoned gravel pit into a wildlife haven. Bob enjoyed spending time outdoors in the woods and on the water. He looked forward to deer hunting each autumn as an opportunity to pass down hunting stories, sportsman skills, and for the hours together with family in the woods. He retired as a machinist and machine shop supervisor in 2011, after 40 years working at G&L in Kaukauna; Voith and CMD in Appleton. Bob enjoyed his retirement traveling, restoring and driving his collector cars, and spending many hours in his shop or doing yard work. Time spent with his family was his greatest joy. Bob was a very proud father and grandfather that loved his family dearly.

Bob is lovingly survived by his wife of 35 years, Jill; children: Brian (Linnea) Head and their daughter Elsie and Dana (Ross) Eisenreich and their sons Owen and Gavin; siblings: Susie (Denis), Jim (Viki), Gary (Susan), Dave (Sue); half sibling: Todd (Monica); in-laws: Sue (Ken) Raether and Tom (Anne) Smith; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, Sherwood. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m.

With much gratitude, the family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at Theda Care Cancer Center for all of the compassionate care Bob received throughout his cancer journey which lasted for four years.
