Robert M. Munson

Robert M. Munson, 77 of Fond du Lac and a resident of Grancare Nursing & Rehabilitation Center for the past two years, died Monday, March 25, 2013 at Grancare. He was born on July 9, 1935 in Fond du Lac the son of Fabian and Vopel Peters Munson. On September 25, 1954 he married Nadine Edkins at St. Mary’s Church, Fond du Lac. He was a graduate of Fond du Lac Senior High School Class of 1953. Robert was employed with Mercury Marine as a machinist for over 30 years. He was an avid band member playing all brass instruments. At one time he served as director of the Marquis Drum & Bugle Corps. of Fond du Lac.  He enjoyed camping, pitching horse shoes, ping pong, Hawaiian shirts, playing cards, coaching his children’s baseball teams and CYO basketball, racquet ball, taking trips to northern Wisconsin, and spending time with family. He was a joke teller, and pitched softball into his 50’s. Robert’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of his life.

 

SURVIVORS: Robert is survived by his wife, Nadine Munson, Fond du Lac, four children, Danny (Annie) Munson, Diane Munson, David “Tuffy” (Kathy) Munson, Don Munson, all of Fond du Lac, six grandchildren, Devin (Marjorie) Munson, Kellyn Munson, Haley (Ryan) Whitinger, Lloyd Munson, Weston (special friend Courtney Gutreuter) Munson, and Samuel Munson, all of Fond du Lac. He is further survived by five great-grandchildren, Pennelope, Linus, Dane, Roslyn, Grace, one brother Richard (Joanne) Munson, Fond du Lac, one sister-in-law Kathleen Wuest, Fond du Lac, two nieces, Raelene Guenther, Mickey (Brian) Moore and one nephew Ricky (Nancy) Munson. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, one son Charles, and a brother-in-law Raymond Wuest.

 

VISITATION: Friends may call on Thursday, March 28, 2013 from 4-8 PM at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home and on Friday from 9:00 AM until the hour of services at the funeral home. FUNERAL: Services will be he held Friday, March 29, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. Deacon Paul Monzel will officiate. Cremation will follow the traditional services.
