Robert P. Knipple

Robert “Bob” P. Knipple, 90, passed away at Harbor Haven in
Fond du Lac. He was born on March 9, 1927 to Frank and Cornelia (Kallit)
Knipple. Bob graduated from Goodrich High School in 1945.

Bob served in the United States Army from 1945 to 1946. On
July 23, 1947, Bob was united in marriage to the love of his life, Vivian Ryan,
at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Eden. They recently celebrated 70 years of
marriage.

Bob worked on the Soo Line Railroad for 18 years. After
working briefly for Brenner Tank, Bob started working for the City of Fond du
Lac Weights and Measures Department in 1968. Bob was also the Parks foreman for
23 years. He retired in 1991.

Bob was a member of the American Legion Trier-Puddy Post 75,
the Eagles Club and Holy Family Parish. He also loved the Packers.

From a young age, Bob was always interested in mechanics.
One of his hobbies was fixing cars. He loved to take everything apart to see
what made it “tick,” especially clocks. Bob enjoyed decorating at Christmas
time. He was a practical joker and had a great sense of humor. Bob was the
first to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. He was incredibly proud of his
family and did everything he could to give them a great life. 

Bob is survived by his wife, Vivian, his daughter, Patricia
Sinotte, one grandson, Shawn (Ashley) Sinotte, and one great granddaughter,
Briella. He is further survived by nieces, nephews and friends. Bob was
preceded in death by his siblings, Franklin, Mary Jane and George.

Visitation: Bob’s family will welcome relatives and friends
to Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St., Fond du Lac, on Wednesday,
October 4, 2017 from 12:00 PM to 1:15 PM.

Service: A memorial service will be celebrated on Wednesday
after visitation at 1:30 PM followed by full military honors provided by the
American Legion Trier-Puddy Post 75. Inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery.
