Rose K. Hatland

Rose K. Hatland, 82, of Campbellsport passed away on Tuesday May 27, 2014 at Hope Health and Rehabilitation Center in Lomira. She was born in Ashford on Aug. 17, 1931, the daughter of Peter J. and Loretta (Dieringer) Straub. On Oct. 1, 1949, Rose married Clarence J. Schmitt. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 1980. Rose married Carold A. Hatland on Sept. 17, 1983. He preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 2008. Rose worked as a waitress at Bauer’s Restaurant in Campbellsport, the Fireside in Allenton and the Clairemont in West Bend before retiring. Rose enjoyed feeding and watching birds. She also enjoyed traveling, listening to polka music and best known for growing and selling the most beautiful and biggest strawberries in the area. 



Survivors include her children Charlie Schmitt of Campbellsport, Jean (Ron) Day of Lomira, David (spec. friend Denise) Schmitt of West Bend, Rosemary Schmitt of Fort Worth, TX, Gerry (Gail) Schmitt of Montello and Ray Schmitt of Campbellsport, her stepchildren Debra (Bob) Beyer and Dean (Janet) Hatland, her grandchildren Jennifer Day, Sheldon Day, Laura Day, Jamie (Dave) Reilly, Julie (Brad) Lentz, Peter Halfman, Andrew Schmitt, Steven Schmitt and Dan Schmitt, her step grandchildren, her great grandchildren, her sisters Esther (Leo) Nigh of Plymouth and Bernadine (Paul) Bodden of Kewaskum, other relatives and friends. Along with her husbands, she was preceded in death by her parents and a number of brothers and sisters. 



Funeral Services will be held on Sunday June 1st at 3:00 PM at the Twohig Funeral Home, 109 W. Main St. Campbellsport. Rev. Edwin Kornath will officiate and entombment will be Monday in the Shrine of Rest Mausoleum at Ledgeview Memorial Park, Fond du Lac. 

Visitation will be Sunday from 1:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
