Rose Marie Erickson

Rose Marie Erickson, 90, of Armstrong passed away Friday, Oct. 9, 2015 at Touchstone Living Center in North Fond du Lac. She was born on June 22, 1925 in Catawba, Wisconsin, the daughter of Paul and Lena (nee Kornuth) Gehring. On June 28, 1947, Rose Marie married Iver Erickson in Catawba. Iver preceded her in death on May 2, 1996. 



Rose Marie attended Red Tile Elementary School and graduated from Phillips High School in 1943. She attended Superior Teachers College from 1943-1945 and Marion College receiving a bachelor’s degree in 1973. Rose Marie taught in many places including Our Lady of Angels School in Armstrong, where she worked as a teacher and principal. 



After retirement, Rose Marie and Iver spent 11 years together in Florida, enjoying golf, water aerobics, walking, dancing and they especially enjoyed spending time with their family both in Florida and here in Wisconsin. Rose Marie continued to enjoy these activities after Iver passed away. 



Those left behind include her children Alan (Trish) Erickson of Fond du Lac, Barbara (Charles) Poch of St Cloud, Terrance (Barbara) Erickson of Machesney Park, Illinois, Pamela (Rick Martingilio) James of Madison, her grandchildren Michelle (Brian) Behnke, Curtis (Joleen Bostwick) Erickson, Craig Erickson, Erica (Randy) Gretz, 

Ashley (Jesse) Pisarik, Terra Erickson, Justin (Ashley Baker) Erickson, Rosalyn (Nicholas) Bruckner and Rachel (Aaron Bladorn) James, her great grandchildren Nicholas and Jayden Behnke, Johnathon Erickson, Charlie and Connor Gretz and Rose Marie, Kenzi, Paxten and Evan Pisarik, her sister Avelene (George) Hickmann, other relatives and friends. Along with her husband Iver, she was preceded in death by her parents. 



Visitation will be at Shepherd of the Hills Catholic Church, W1562 County Rd. B, Eden Monday October 12th at 10:00 a.m. followed with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00. Rev. John Radetski will officiate and burial will follow in Our Lady of Angels Cemetery, Armstrong. Memorials to the Alzheimer’s Foundation are appreciated.
