Ruth Francis Alyanak

Ruth Francis Alyanak, 91, of Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin, died
September 22, 2014 after an extended battle with Alzheimer’s Disease.

Ruth was born in Carthage, New York on June 26th,
1923 in the home where she grew up with her parents, Helen and Nathan and sisters,
Mary and Jean.  She graduated from
Russell Sage College in 1945 with a degree in retail sales.  Ruth married Edward Alyanak on February 9,
1946 while he was on leave during the war.

Ruth lived her life as a loving and caring person with a
strong Christian faith.  She enjoyed
spending time outdoors and teaching others about the environment while living
in Michigan and California.  Serving in
her church was an important part of her life and she would often take communion
to church members who were homebound.
Her husband passed away in 2004 and in 2010, she moved to the Villa
Loretto Nursing Home in Mt. Calvary.  At
the Villa, Ruth loved being in the country and enjoyed the farm animals.  She often had the opportunity to hold newborn
animals and would have a huge smile on her face.

Ruth is survived by her Wisconsin family made up of her son
Edward, daughter-in-law Debbie and grandchildren Edward and Caroline.  She is also survived by her son Richard of
Arvada CO, daughter Mary Jo of Lodi, CA, daughter Nancy of Bellingham, WA. and life
long friends Stan and Kitty Weiss and family of Los Altos Hills, CA.

Ruth’s family would like to thank the Sisters and staff of
the Villa Loretto Nursing Home as well as Dr. Jeffery Strong and Denise
Gatien-Brux, N.P.  for the love and
support they have shown Ruth over the last four and a half years.  Alzheimer’s is a horrible disease and as it
stripped away Ruth’s mind, her loving spirit was nurtured by the Villa.  The staff brought great comfort to Ruth and
her family during her final days.

The family is not planning a conventional funeral as the
body will be immediately cremated.  A
service memorializing Ruth’s life will be held at a time that allows the family
to come together in celebration of her life.
