Scott W. Mathers

Scott W. “Oh1eye” Mathers, 61, of Fond du Lac, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on August 23, 1956 to the late Wayne W. and Janet C. (Lange) Mathers in Fond du Lac. 

Scott was a high school graduate of L.P. Goodrich in 1975. He began working at Mercury Marine in April of 1976. He just celebrated his 42 year as an assembly worker at Mercury Marine. Scott married Brenda Brown in February 1976. She preceded him in death in 2011. He also married Erin P. Skrenes in 1992. She preceded him death in 2005. After the passing of his wives, he rekindled a relationship with his high school sweetheart, Wendy Ennis. She also preceded him in death in 2015.

Scott taught Hunter’s Safety for Fond du Lac County. He was a member of the Wescot Gun Club. He was an avid outdoorsman. He spent many years hunting and camping with family and friends. He was a member of the Eagle’s Club in Fond du Lac. He was an active member of the Brothertown Indian Nation. He enjoyed driving to the Kettle Moraine Scenic outlooks. He enjoyed the tranquility at the Shalom Wildlife Sanctuary in West Bend. Scott enjoyed spending much of his time with family and friends. He was a member of the Gratitude Club and spent time connecting with others and volunteered his time on the Board of Directors.

Scott is survived by his children, Amy (fiancé, Patrick Loof) Mathers, Anthony ( Sara) Mathers, Randy Mathers, Daniel (Heidi) Skrenes and David Skrenes all of Fond du Lac; grandchildren, Brett Wiskow, Nicholas Mathers, Makayla Mathers, Makenzie Mathers, Elliana and Adaley Skrenes, Linden and Melody, Samantha Loof and Colton Sabel. He is further survived by his stepmother, Ruth Mathers; siblings, Steven (Joan) Mathers, Lola Voskuil and Michael (Janice) Mathers; nieces and nephews, Brook Voskuil, Samantha Mathers, Tannar Mathers and Travis Geib; other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, special friend and one granddaughter, Hannah Mathers.

Visitation: Scott’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 1:00 PM to 2:45 PM at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division Street in Fond du Lac.

Service: A Memorial service will take place at 3:00 PM following the visitation. Cremation has taken place.
