Shelly Lorenz-Adair

Shelly Lorenz-Adair, age 48 was taken to Heaven, along with her husband, Kenny, and her step-daughter, Cassidy who were tragically taken from their loving families.

She was the valedictorian of New Holstein High School, class of 1988 and earned her bachelor degree from Eau Claire in Sports fitness, psychology and a minor in music.  During her time there, she was runner up for the Miss Eau Claire competition.  She met her husband at the Wyndham Resorts and time share in Tennessee when she became his supervisor.   They were married September 8, 2005 in Nashville, TN.  The rest, as they say was history.

She was a truly beautiful person, both inside and out with a kind and giving spirit. She was always attentive to the needs of those around her with a warm and gentle smile that lifted everyone’s spirit wherever she went.   She possessed steady and unstoppable fingers that elegantly graced the keys of her piano that her grandparents, Florian and Dorothy Woelfel, had given to her as a gift. As she played, her angelic voice rang out in a way that would bring tears of joy to the eyes of those who heard.

Shelly was grateful for the gifts God gave to her like her baby grand piano, her horse ranch and the rescue dogs, Brutus, Tiki & Cherokee, she was able to care for. These three furry “kids” obeyed Shelly’s every command and often times obeyed better than actual children.  With her love and devotion to these animals, she was also in the process of beginning a puppy day care along with her antique shop Sweet Tea & Biscuits.   Shelly’s life was an example and is living proof that childhood dreams can come true.

Shelly and her husband, Kenny, did so many things together and she loved everyone in her family beyond words, especially, her step daughter, Cassidy, Chris and her very precious granddaughter, Piper.  Shelly was overjoyed when Cassidy asked her to take Piper to school three times a week.

Shelly left behind her mom and pops: Esther & Doug Fischer; her father: Ed & Kathy Lorenz; a sister, Kim (Dean) Retlich and their children: Godson, Cody Retlich and  Courtney Retlich; a brother, Dale Lorenz & his fiancee, Lisa Ales and her children: Tasha & Anya and Nathan; a brother, Jeff (Miranda) Lorenz and their children: Ethan and Charlie Lorenz .   She is further survived by her Godparents, Linda Lorenz-Stack and Ronald Woelfel, other aunts, uncles, cousins and too many friends to count.  Shelly’s family will continue to remember Kenny’s family as they mourn the loss of their loved ones as well.  Kenny’s family includes his mother: Faye; Cassidy’s mom, Shirley; his step-son, Chris (Liz) Adair, his brother: Kevin (Tammy) Adair and son Jake; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be at 5:00 PM on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kiel, with Pastoral Director, Joe Zenk and Rev. Dr. Marc Axelrod officiating.  Burial will be in St. Martin Catholic Cemetery.  Friends may call at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm on Sunday, June 10, 2018.   A memorial will be held for Kenny and Cassidy at the time of Shelly’s funeral service on Sunday, June 10 in Kiel.  A memorial service for Shelly will be held with the funeral services for Kenny and Cassidy in Tennessee at the time of their services.

There was no time for “good-bye”, but there is no good in “good-bye” anyway. Shelly lived all the dreams she had and her family’s earnest prayer is that her last dream is Heaven.  Until we all meet again, my very loving and beautiful little girl.  You are so loved and in our broken hearts forever. -Mom

“Please, Lord, keep Shelly at the closest chair on your right side so you can hear her beautiful voice singing your praises.”

Shelly’s family would like to thank the community for the outpouring of support and kindness shown to them during this very difficult time.  A memorial fund has been established in the name of Shelly Lorenz-Adair.
