Sister Francis Rose Dinkel CSA, Isabella Dinkel

Sister Francis Rose Dinkel CSA, Isabella Dinkel, died on September 4, 2013, at St. Francis Home.  She died peacefully while sleeping, with a smile on her face.

Sister Francis Rose was born in Victoria, KS, on January 17, 1925, to Frank and Rosa Hertel Dinkel.  Sister was one of fifteen children, ten girls and five boys.

Sister Francis Rose made first profession of vows in the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes on August 15, 1953.  Sister started her ministry with CSA in Holy Family Orphans’ Home, Marquette, MI, as housemother for older boys.  She was a teacher for 35 years in Kansas and Wisconsin.  Upon retiring from teaching, she ministered as homemaker at St. Mary’s in Decatur, IN; later she worked in parish ministry at St. Michaels, AZ, and at Thomas More Prep-Marian High School in Hays, KS. In addition to her professional life, Sister was skilled in crafts and spent significant time restoring and upholstering furniture for various CSA ministries.

Sister was preceded in death by: her parents; three brothers, Clarence, Edward, and Hilarius; and three sisters, Bertha, Juletta, and Rita.

She is survived by her brothers, Father Harvey, Capuchin, and George; her sisters, Mary, Viola, Sisters Paul Ann, CSA, Malinda, Regina, and Irene; and by the Sisters of St. Agnes with whom she lived, prayed, and ministered.
