Sister Jeanette Esser

Sister Jeanette Esser, SSSF, “Sister Joan of Arc”, 81, passed away Monday Dec. 31, 2012 at St. Joseph Convent in Campbellsport. She was born March 16, 1931 in Lomira the daughter of the late Frank and Frances Reimer Esser. Sister Jeanette joined the School Sisters of St. Francis and was a graduate of Alverno College. She served as a musician and liturgist at parishes in four dioceses, Chicago, Madison, Rockford and Milwaukee. In 1995, Sister moved to Campbellsport and served as a musician and liturgist at St. Joseph Convent. Sister also served as the organist at the First Methodist Church in Campbellsport and did sing-alongs at Ivy Manor and St. Joseph Convent. Sister Jeanette is survived by her brother Norman (Loretta) Esser of West Bend, her sisters Carol (James) Murphy of Eden and Jane (Edward) Gurno of Fond du Lac, her nieces and nephews, her great nieces and nephews and the School Sisters of St. Francis Community with whom she shared her life for 63 years. She was preceded in death by her brother Roy. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday Jan 4th at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Convent, 526 Mill St. Campbellsport. Burial will follow in St. Matthew’s Cemetery, Campbellsport. Visitation and wake service will begin at 9:00 AM Friday Jan. 4th at St. Joseph Convent.
