Sister Mary Mollison, CSA

Sister Mary Mollison, CSA, died peacefully on June
30, 2017, at Hospice Home of Hope, Fond du Lac, WI.


Mary
Jean Mollison was born November 2, 1946, in Niles, MI, the fourth child and
only daughter of Andrew R. and Eva Blatz Mollison.  A member of St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish
in Niles, she graduated from the parish elementary school in 1960.  She graduated with honors from St. Joseph
High School, South Bend, IN, in 1964.  She
received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Marian College of Fond du
Lac, WI, in 1969.  She later earned a
Master of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison as
well as a Master of Art in Theology from Felician University in New Jersey.

 

Mary
entered the Congregation of Sisters of St. Agnes, Fond du Lac, in September
1966.  She made first profession of vows
on August 15, 1969. Sister Mary was a staff nurse, supervising nurse, and
vice-president of nursing while serving at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac, WI,
St. Clare Hospital, Monroe, WI, and St. Anthony Hospital, Hays, KS from
1969-1982.

 

Sister
Mary was CSA Corporate Director of Sponsorship for eleven years. She was
elected by the Sisters of St. Agnes to leadership for the congregation first as
general vicar, then as general superior of CSA. 
While leading the congregation, Sister Mary continued to encourage
partnering and lay leadership among CSA sponsored organizations, innovative
approaches to delivery of healthcare services, and networking and collaboration
wherever possible. Following her service as general superior of CSA, Sister Mary
continued to have an integral role in Leadership Conference of Women Religious
and international organizations which promoted the mission of women religious
into the future and those which addressed urgent issues for Catholic healthcare.

 

Sister Mary was preceded in death by her parents Andrew
R. and Eva Blatz Mollison and her brother Andrew R. Mollison, Jr.  She is survived by her brothers and
sisters-in-law: James J. and Germaine Mollison, Thomas R. and Patty Mollison, all
of Niles, MI, and Charlene Mollison; one niece and eight nephews; other
relatives and friends; numerous former colleagues and the Sisters of St. Agnes
with whom she lived, prayed and ministered.

Visitation: The Sisters of St. Agnes and the
Mollison family will receive those who wish to pay their respects on Monday,
July 10, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du
Lac, WI beginning at 2:00 PM until the time of service.

Service: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on
Monday, July 10, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church at 4:00 PM. Father Ken
Smits O.F.M. Cap, will be the presider.  Cremation
has taken place. Private burial services will be held at St. Joseph Springs
Cemetery, Fond du Lac, WI.
