Wesley C. Wheaton

Wesley C. Wheaton, age 87, of Hilbert died on Friday, November 14, 2014 at his home in Hilbert. He was born February 15, 1927 in Kaukauna, son of the late Joseph & Minnie (Trettin) Wheaton. He married Ethel Ziegenbein on February 24, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul. He had proudly served in the United States Navy; a service that took him to many different places throughout the world. Following his discharge, he worked driving bus in the Appleton and Fox Cities area. He also began working with his father-in-law doing remodeling and cabinet building. He later started to work with Chuck Parsons’ full service station in any capacity needed. From pumping gas, vehicle mechanic work to the sales of Ski-Do Clothing and everything in between, Wes showcased his diligence and hard work ethic. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul, enjoyed photography, and enjoyed the time spent outdoors hunting, or fishing at his cabin up north. Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Ethel; Godchildren: Nancy (Jim) Niespodzany, Kay (Larry) Ullmer, Daniel (Sharon) Wheaton, Deb (Dick) Denzel, Barbara Ziegenbein; sisters-in-law: Janet (Earl) Schuh, Shirley Ziegenbein; a special nephew: Joe (Karen) Wheaton; and a special niece: Brenda (Scott) Martin; as well as other nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Herman & Herbert Wheaton; a brother-in-law: Melvin Ziegenbein; and a nephew: Timothy Schuh. Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul (N6080 W. River Road Hilbert, WI) with the Rev. Joel Brassfield officiating. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 am until 10:45 am on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Memorial given in the name of Wesley C.
