William V. Ales

William V. Ales, 84, of Fond du Lac, went home to God on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at St. Agnes Hospital, Fond du Lac. He was born on September 19, 1929, in San Diego, CA, the son of Ignatius and Marian (Evans) Ales. Bill met and married Patricia McEnroe of Eden in San Diego on March 23, 1967. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. Bill graduated from San Diego State with degrees in Philosophy and Education. Bill worked for the City of San Diego and then taught at Claremont Christian High School in San Diego. He was a member of St. Therese Catholic Church in San Diego and Holy Family Parish-Sacred Heart Church in Fond du Lac. Bill had an extreme love of learning and was an enthusiastic reader of maps and dictionaries. He was a life member of NRA and had a great love of his dachshunds Hannah and Sarah (deceased). 



Survivors include his wife Patricia, his daughters Yvonne Sullivan of Las Vegas, and Karin (Tom) Wold of San Diego, his son Tommy (Terri) Hannon, Jr. of Edmond, OK, his grandchildren, Ross, Todd (Amanda), Matthew, Kelly, Chloe and Kendall, his great-grandson Vincent, his sisters Rose (Calvin) Zongker of Tallahassee, FL and Joanne LeBeau of Yuma, AZ, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Rosemary Berg, Joan McEnroe, John and Ruth McEnroe all of Wisconsin and Patrick and Mary McEnroe of Columbus, OH, many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. 



He was preceded in death by his parents, Patty’s parents Lawrence and Florence (Fitzpatrick) McEnroe, his brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Harold LeBeau, Robert and Kathleen Winkel, Lawrence Edward McEnroe and William Berg. 



Visitation will be Saturday March 15th from 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 200 S. Peters Ave., Fond du Lac, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM. Inurnment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Eden, at a later date.
