$1,000,000 Bond Set In Murder Of Lily Peters

A Chippewa County Judge sets a one-million dollar cash bond for the 14-year-old suspect in the murder of 10-year-old Lily Peters. District Attorney Wade Newell argued for the high amount.

“Given the statements that the defendant made to law enforcement, that his intention was to rape and kill the victim from the get go.”

The next court hearing in the case is scheduled for May 5. The juvenile is charged in adult court with first-degree intentional homicide and sexual assault of a child.

Newell said suspect and victim are related but did not provide details. He said the suspect and the victim left Lily’s aunt’s house together on Sunday. Lily’s body was found Monday.
