Calumet County Crash Kills One

A deadly crash in Calumet County closed State Highway 114 for nearly 8 hours Tuesday, September 27, 2022.

At approximately 7:36 AM, the Calumet County Sheriff’s Office started receiving 911 calls of a crash involving a vehicle versus dump truck on STH Hwy 114 at State Park Road, in the Village of Harrison. Numerous calls to the dispatch center reported that the vehicles were on fire.

Upon arrival, deputies found one person trapped in an SUV, while the driver of the truck, identified as a 47 year old man, was able to escape with minor injuries.

The driver of the SUV, a 52 year old female from Neenah was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation of the crash scene revealed that the eastbound SUV appeared to have turned in front of the westbound dump truck.

The angle of the sun may have been a factor in the crash.

The Village of Harrison Street Department, Harrison Fire Department and First Responders, Gold Cross Ambulance, Wisconsin State Patrol, Calumet County Highway Department and The Calumet County Medical Examiner’s Office all assisted the Calumet County Sheriff’s Department at the scene.

The name of the victim is being withheld, pending notification of the family.

The highway was re-opened at 3:24 PM
