Woman And Baby Not Harmed In 14-Mile Chase That Ends In An Arrest

A high speed chase Tuesday night ends with an arrest. Fond du Lac County Sheriffs Deputies attempted to make a traffic stop Tuesday night at 6:34 p.m., on a vehicle traveling 90 mph in a 55 mph zone on Hwy. 151 South near Hwy.23.

The 14-mile chase ended when a tactical maneuver forced the vehicle into a ditch on Hwy. 175 just south of Hwy. 49 in Dodge County. The 34-year old male suspect, from Green Bay, then armed himself with a butcher knife while holding a female occupant and her baby inside the vehicle with him.

At one point the suspect removed the baby from the rear car seat and held it in the front seat with him, with negotiations with the Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Office Swat/Rescue/Negotiations lasting until about 10:15 p.m. at which point the suspect exited the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident.  Charges will be filed with the DA’s office once interviews are completed. The matter remains under investigation.
