20,000 Expected Saturday For Protest In Madison
Madison police are putting extra resources in place for a Saturday protest in support of abortion rights.
Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin has scheduled a rally at the Capitol, in response to reports that the Supreme Court’s conservative majority intend to overturn Roe v. Wade.
Madison Police have scheduled extra personnel, including department leaders, a special events team and officers on horseback for the protest, which organizers expect to draw up to 20-thousand people.
Police Chief Shon Barnes said MPD hopes the event remains peaceful.
