30 Fatalities From House Fires Reported in WI This Year

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says a total of 30
people have died as a result of house fires in the state of Wisconsin this
year. That figure was last updated Sunday. Out of the overall total, there have
been three fatal fires in our area in 2019. A woman was killed in a fire in
Fond du Lac on May 19th, a man killed in a fire in Oshkosh on May 4th
and a man was killed in a fire in the Town of Green Lake on February 10th.
Fire officials say to keep that number down, people need to remember basic fire
safety tips – including the importance of having working smoke detectors and to
know and practice your fire escape plan with your family. See more fire safety tips here.
