Sunday Night Fire in The Town of Byron Causes $5,000 In Damages

A chicken coop fire Sunday evening in Fond du Lac County resulted in $5,000 of damages but no animals were lost.

The Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s Department was notified Sunday April 17, 2022, at 8:33 PM of a chicken coop fire on Cty. Highway F, located in the Town of Byron.  

The initial investigation shows that the fire started from an electric heater used to heat the chicken coop.  The fire was contained to the one building and it caused approximately $5,000 in damage.  No animals were injured in the fire as the chicken coop was empty at the time of the fire.  

The following agencies assisted at the scene; Eden Fire Department, Brownsville Fire Department, City of Fond du Lac Fire Department, and the City of Fond du Lac Ambulance.
