57-Year-Old Taken Into Custody After Mugging 11-Year-old For Bag Of Groceries

The Sheboygan Police Department worked quickly yesterday with information from an 11-year-old mugging victim as well as eye witnesses to take a 57-year-old into custody.

During the late morning hours, the man attacked the 11-year-old and stole a bag of groceries the boy was carrying.

Several citizens who had witnessed the incident were able to give a good description of the man and officers quickly located and arrested him.

According to police, the man has an extensive criminal history and has been referred to the Sheboygan County District Attorney’s Office for charges of robbery and physical abuse of a child.

The boy was transported by Sheboygan Fire Department paramedics to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The police department released a statement saying, We commend the victim for his ability to remain calm and provide the responding officers with information critical to
resolving this incident. The department also recognizes the critical part other witnesses and bystanders played in providing information that led to the arrest of the responsible
person and is grateful for their assistance.
