6-Yr. Old Struck By Vehicle In Fond du Lac

The Fond du Lac PD continues to investigate a Monday night incident involving a 6-year old being struck by a vehicle.

Officers were called to the area of Forest Ave. and Warner St. Monday (5/16/2022) just before 7:15 p.m., where it was reported a child had been hit by a vehicle.

The investigation is at the preliminary stages, but initial information provided leads Officers to believe that the child was originally riding a bicycle, heading west on the sidewalk on the North side of Forest Avenue.

At the same time, a 32-year-old Fond du Lac resident was operating a vehicle travelling west on Forest Avenue.  

The child, without warning, rode the bicycle across the terrace into traffic and was struck by the vehicle.

The child was transported by Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue to SSM Health (St. Agnes) and then transferred to ThedaStar for a flight to Children’s Wisconsin-Milwaukee Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
