9-Year-Old Injured in Dodge County ATV Crash

A nine-year-old boy sustained what are being called “serious,
life-threatening injuries” after being ejected from an ATV in the Dodge County
Town of Emmett on Saturday night. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded
to an ATV crash at the intersection of County Highway M and Rhine Road around
9:30 pm. Reports say a 48-year-old man from Watertown was driving the ATV with
the nine-year-old in the passenger seat when he lost control of the ATV, causing
it to roll over. Both the driver and passenger were ejected, with the
nine-year-old being taken to Watertown Hospital, and eventually flown to
Children’s Hospital in Madison for treatment. The driver was taken to Watertown
Hospital, and eventually transferred to Aurora Hospital in Summit with serious
injuries that are not believed to be life threatening. Investigators believe
alcohol was a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
