AAA Predicts New Independence Day Travel Record

AAA is expecting a new travel record this week for the Independence Day holiday. An estimated 47 million Americans will travel fifty miles or more from home – which is up five-percent from last year. Over one million Wisconsinites will travel, which is up six percent from a year ago. Peak travel times may not be quite as packed as usual though, as many people got a head-start on the holiday over the weekend. The average price for a gallon of gas in Wisconsin is around $2.84 right now. That’s up a sharp 63 cents from this time last year.
