AARP Warns Of Coronavirus Stimulus Check Scams

The ink on the corononavirus relief checks is even dry yet, and some people are already looking to fleece you out of all or parts of yours.

Wisconsin AARP state director Sam Wilson says they have already heard of folks receiving calls from scammers who say “they can get you your stimulus check faster than anyone else if you just give us $25 or $50. And if you’re desperate for money and needing that stimulus check, they end up falling victim to that.”

Wilson says some scammers are also telling people they won’t get their checks if they don’t fill out the census — and offering to do that for a fee.
