Academic And Career Plan Approved

The Fond du Lac School Board this week approved an Academic and Career Plan. District staff and Envision Greater Fond du Lac staff worked on the plan that was presented to the board during a workshop two weeks ago. The plan will be implemented this school year. District Superintendent Jim Sebert says they will begin working with 6th grade students to help them develop a plan whether they are planning on attending college, going into military or entering the work force after high school graduation. It will blend in opportunities like job shadowing, portfolios and job opportunities when they get into high school. Sebert says it is important for kids to have some type of plan developed to make them career or college ready. He also points out that a student’s goals could change before they graduate, but this gives them some type of plan to follow until then.
