Accident At Seneca Foods Claims Man’s Life

(Update 10:30 a.m.) Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials have identified the 42-year-old West Bend man killed in an accident at Seneca Foods in the Village of Oakfield as Anthony J. Shields.

County Sheriff’s officials say a
42-year-old man killed in an accident at the Seneca Foods plant in the Village of Oakfield
was from the West Bend
area. The man was working on a piece of machinery and became entangled in it. Sheriff’s
Lieutenant Cameron McGee says rescuers tried to save his life after freeing him
from the machinery and took like saving measures. The man died at the scene.
The accident was reported at 4:16 p.m. Thursday afternoon. In addition to
Sheriff’s deputies the Oakfield Fire and First Responders, Lifestar Ambulance,
Flight for Life and Oakfield Police responded to the call.

Fond du Lac County Sheriff’s officials say a 42-year-old man died after becoming entangled in a piece of equipment at Seneca Foods in the Village Of Oakfield Thursday afternoon. The accident was reported at 4:16 p.m. The man died at the scene. In addition to the Sheriff’s Department, Oakfield Fire and First Responders, Flight for Life and Oakfield Police responded to the scene. The incident remains under investigation. The man’s name has not been released pending notification of family.
