Acting Police Chief Appointed In Mayville

Mayville Police Captain Ryan Vossekuil has been named the City’s acting police chief. He’s been with the department nearly 15 years. The City’s Police and Fire Commission made the appointment in the wake of Police Chief Chris MacNeill’s resignation last month. MacNeill was with the department 17 years, but resigned amidst allegations he altered documents to help the son of a police officer get into the army. Meanwhile applications for a new police chief can be submitted until May 31st.
