Active Shooter Training

The Fond du Lac Police Department hosted active shooter training for law enforcement agencies, fire and EMS departments from across the state this past week. Police Officer Erik Foster says he didn’t attend it, but in talking with others who did it was a very successful event. Foster, who is on the SWAT team,  says things have changed over the years and they’ve learned that shooting victims need help right away so it is important to get fire departments and EMS involved as quickly as possible. He says prior to this week’s training the Fond du Lac Police Department was one of the first departments in the country to train along with firefighters and paramedics on active shooter drills.
