Additional Case of Covid-19 Revealed, Further Enforcement of Health Order Announced

FDL County Health Department Official Kim Mueller says more test results from Thursday produced an additional positive case of the coronavirus. That brings the total current positive cases in the county to 15.

The announcement comes on the heel of the announcement yesterday of the death of one person who had contracted the virus while on an Egyptian River Cruise. The name of the victim has not yet been released, but Mueller did say the victim was a 50-ish year old.

Mueller delivered the information at a press conference Friday morning, where she also announced Public Health Order #1, placing restrictions on barber/barbering and cosmetology, nail salons, massage parlors, tattoo and body art studios. The Order also clarifies restaurant/bar rules along with religious and funeral service rules.

Mueller made it clear that local enforcement will uphold and enforce any violations of the Department of Health Services Emergency Orders as they relate to Covid-19 and the response to the virus as declared by Governor Tony Evers, in order to ensure the safety of those within Fond du Lac County specifically, and the state of Wisconsin in general.
