Advisory Park Board Sends Two Recommendations To Master Plan Committee

We’ve heard the bark. Now we will see if there’s any bite. The city of Fond du Lac Advisory Park Board met Monday evening, and a large portion of the meeting was spent discussing the Alternative Master Plan that’s been proposed for Lakeside Park.

On a 4-3 vote, the Board approved a motion, advising the Alternative Master Plan Management Committee to move the multi-purpose building, which would also be home to the often-discussed bistro, off lighthouse peninsula, and further west into the park.

Board Member Shawn McCrary recommends moving it ideally in an area located east of the renovated pavilion, just across the channel. The board also made a motion to recommend to the Alternative Master Plan Management Committee that the amphitheater be positioned either in Frasier Point, or other options that were offered up in the Feasibility Study by Johnson Consulting. The motion passed on a vote of 8-0.  Council is set to meet Tuesday night.
