AdvocateAurora Looks To Get Bigger

The board of directors for two
of the largest hospital operators in the Midwest — Advocate Aurora Health and
Beaumont Health —have approved a non-binding letter of intent, now
allowing the two groups to “explore a potential partnership” that could lead to
a merger. The announcement was made Wednesday.

If the partnership goes through, it would create
a health care system covering Wisconsin, Michigan and Illinois.
Advocate came to be as a result of Illinois-based Advocate Health Care and Wisconsin’s Aurora
Health Care merging. The deal would give the combined health system annual revenue
in excess of $17 billion.
