Ag Groups Meet In Madison Today, Talk To Senators

A coalition of ag groups will be at the Capitol today (Thursday), as they hope to convince the state Senate to approve a package of bills to aid Wisconsin farmers and processors.

Rebekah Sweeney, with the Wisconsin Cheese Makers Association, says Wisconsin farmers and processors need Senate action in order to strengthen and stabilize the dairy industry. There will be 16 different advocacy organizations for the ag community, coming together, to call on Senators to help further bills that will support both Dairy and Crop farmers at a critical point.

The bills were approved by the Assembly last month. The state Senate plans to meet just once more later this month, before ending its session for the year.
