Ag Showcase Saturday In FDL

Why did the chicken cross the road? Why to get to the 15th Annual Fond du Lac Agricultural Showcase Saturday at the Fond du Lac County Fairgrounds Recreation Building. Envision Greater Fond du Lac Agricultural Programs Director Brenda Gudex says those attending can find out more about raising their own chickens. She says, “So we have Lynette Miller from Purina Animal Nutrition. She is going to talk to the group, whoever is there ready to listen about maybe how to start your own backyard chicken flock.” Sand Creek Brewing Company will be there to offer beverage tasting. There will be other tasting opportunities as well. Gudex says, “We will have Wisconsin wines for you to taste as well. And then we have the greatest cheese processors and meat markets in the area that have given us donations again for this year’s event.” The popular Cooking Mom Amy Hanten will be doing presentations at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.  The cost is $3 per person with children under 10 admitted free. Hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Proceeds go to support the Agriculture Ambassador Program, scholarships and educational activities.
