Agnesian Camelot Drive First Phase Nearing Completion

Monday will be a momentous day at 421 Camelot Drive as three Agnesian HealthCare services move into the newly-expanded facility, which at the conclusion will bring another 50,000 square feet for programs and services.

Services began moving Friday including podiatry (foot and ankle), orthopedics, and the Sports & Spine Center. The new space dramatically improves available space for all three services, as well as consolidating all podiatry physicians in one location.

The new podiatry space will feature six additional exam rooms, facilitating more efficient flow of patients in an office with multiple busy providers. It also will have an additional X-ray area, with one in each of the main corridors of the clinic.

“This design increases patient access and convenience, and minimizes the distance patients travel between the exam room and the X-ray area,” according to Michael DeGere, DPM, FASPS, FACFAS, medical director of Agnesian HealthCare’s Podiatric Medicine and Surgery.

Podiatrists will benefit from two dedicated cast rooms, facilitating cast application for two different patients simultaneously in separate rooms. There will also be a dedicated procedure room for specialized in-office procedures, including laser.

Both orthopedic surgeons and podiatrists, as well as their patients, will find advantages being in the same facility as the Fond du Lac Surgery Center, as well as adjacencies to the Sports & Spine Center.

This next-door access allows for the various providers to readily collaborate, and permits for same-building scheduling and treatment for patients who will benefit from therapy services,” says Dr. DeGere.

And, the Agnesian Health Shoppe will be located in the building just north of the clinic building, providing convenient access for patients with prescriptions for diabetic shoes, inserts, compression stockings, ankle braces, gait-assistive devices, wound care supplies and other home medical needs.

As orthopedics services continue to grow and Agnesian HealthCare welcomes new physicians, the new area will help with this need.

The new orthopedics area has 13 more exam rooms, one additional cast room and one more X-ray room. It has room for a total of 10 providers; Agnesian HealthCare currently features the services of six orthopedic surgeons and one certified physician assistant.

The new Sports & Spine Center will feature larger spaces for private and functional treatments and open up space for gym use for patients. Private locker spaces will also be available for patient valuables.

“We look forward to maintaining the close contact we have with our orthopedic physicians, as well as the communication and teamwork benefits that allows our therapists and athletic trainers,” according to Zach Pitz, director of Musculoskeletal and Rehabilitation Services. “We also look forward to these same benefits with the close ties to podiatry, and the expectation of pain and physiatry sharing the same floor.

In mid-February, the new section of Camelot Drive will welcome the Camelot Bistro. Patients and visitors will enjoy Starbucks specialty beverages; healthy smoothies made with fresh fruits and vegetables with protein options; gourmet deli sandwiches, cold and hot Panini’s; cold side items such as, hummus and chips, fruit, yogurt parfaits, veggie cups, etc.; bakery items, such as, sweet breads, muffins, danishes; and a daily soup option.

The Camelot Bistro will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and from 6:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Fridays.

Once these services relocate, renovation will begin on some existing spaces and Agnesian HealthCare will prepare work areas to centralize pain medicine services, and relocate physiatry services. This phase is expected to be complete by late March 2015.

Optical shop and eye care services will relocate from the Division Street campus to the first floor of the Camelot Drive facility (facing the Highway 151 Bypass) in spring 2015.

During this time, the Agnesian Wound Clinic will relocate to its permanent location in the existing facility, which will make way for construction of a new prescription center (slated to open May 2015).

A second facility is under construction next to the 421 Camelot Drive facility. This 50,000-square-foot building will feature Agnesian dialysis, nephrology clinic, durable medical equipment and oxygen services. Completion is expected by March 2015. Dialysis and nephrology services will be at 305 Camelot Drive, and durable medical equipment and home oxygen at 307 Camelot Drive.
